The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
